Heh, I uploaded what I have right now, but it's far from finished. Probably my worst entry so far in these contests...

Well... Uploaded. It's rushed in places, full of bugs in others (time handling, shooting down powerups :-P ) but I'll not have time to fix any of it now with 3 minutes left.
Good competition, and congratulations to all who entered, whether you finished your code or not!

I kept a little log of the times I worked this weekend. I just calculated the total: 34 hours. And since we were working in a team of two, it looks like we've got a good 60 hours behind our entry. Not bad

Imagine the things we could have achieved if we had actually done something usefull in that time...

There's a bug in the code that makes the game completely unplayable. I've uploaded what I have, but I feel bad...
Anyway, there's always next year.
-
No time to record and add sound, but I have tweaked the bananas a bit more and uploaded a new version.
Thanks for a nice Speedhack! Even though I've kept it simple and done nothing fancy, I have learned some things (and discovered ways to do things better if I ever will return to Rocket Duel). I have also re-discovered how fuin programming can be. If it can fit into my schedule next time (and I can remember to stop by A.cc now that I'm no longer hanging around the site on a daily - ...

I may not be able to make the deadline due to last minute tweaking.

Thanks to LennyLen, the Windows users of you can test my game without having to compile it
here!

I am finally finished.
I'm sure there's memory leaks.
I'm sure the code is fagile.
I'm sure it's not really fun.
But it's done. And it is mine.
Two reasons to be very happy.
The only things I didn't personally do with regards to this game are the graphics (done by a friend of mine)and the music (jacked from the web).

An hour left, and I'm still trying to cram in that last feature ...
(thankfully not a critical one!)
Looks like I'll have something in by deadline this time. Cool to be up, watching the blogs of (mostly) relief as I chug along.

Almost finished, I still have to iron out a persistent bug.

Uploaded my final version. I'll probably do a post-speedhack version some day. Now I'm off to work.
It's been really fun! Thanks everybody. I can't wait to test all of your games!
-
Done! I couldn't finish everything. Especially painful is the lack of a random level generator. Still, I'm optimistic. The game is quite playable as is, and is pretty close to what I had in mind.
I'll post another screenshot later.
-
I woke up, had one cup of milk, one cup of coffee, and started programming, I made two breaks for lunch and dinner, and I'm still here, but now I'm done!
The game is fully playable, yes, all 3 levels (plus a bonus one). The levels aren't that much fun, but when you're using vim as your level editor and the game didn't exist when you created them, you can't expect much.
-
I've fixed one bug and added some smaller features, but nothing super exciting. I will try to make a nice little particle system now, and if I don't finish this, I'll consider my game as done now.
A picture of my workspace (which has become messier and messier the last days

Is there anything about game physics? :) - Johan Halmén
- Hehe, yes, I looked there, but I couldn't find anything suitable for my problem. :-)
It's more school physics, you know. :-( - Michael Faerber

I officially give up. Too many bugs and too little time.
- Too bad! I always look forward to your entry... - amarillion

I have been chained to this computer since 10:00am Saturday. All in all I have had 4 hours sleep since this thing began and now I can say I am free at last. You can download the exacutable from:
http://www.freewebs.com/hamstermk4/SketchFighter.zip
Unfortunatly it was too big to fit with the exicutable inside the 250 limit so I just submitted the source to the offical Speed Hack entery proces.

It's uploaded, source and all. Source is known to work on OS X, Linux, and Windows. A Windows binary is available
here.
I faced a dilemma: my zipped archive was 380KB! I needed to get rid of my 250KB ogg title song, but that's the best part of the game. So I decided to go back door and implement a resource downloader.
If it notices the title.ogg file is missing, it will automatically download it from the web.

- Maybe in SH2007 the limit should be increased to at least 400 Kb.
As you're describing, this could be considered cheat, i could make a 2kb thing to download some gigabytes of data. However, as there was no rule saying nothing about that, so why not, eh? :D - Victor Williams Stafusa da Silva
- The distinction here is that the downloaded resource was optional, which I don't consider cheating at all.
However, not including fundamental or essential elements in the zip would disqualify the entry. - Matthew Leverton
- This is a cool hack, but I can see this going out of hand in coming years... - amarillion

Unfortunately, I haven't had internet access up until now, but here's my log. You'll have to wait for the judging to see it

There still some minor bugs left, but we did! We finished it.

My friend found a bug that I hadn't spotted yet. It's kind of annoying because I can't figure it out. Well my code is a mess.. but this is called Speed Hacking, isn't it?
